A conversation between a husband and a wife.
Husband walks into the family room and sees wife.
“What are you doing?” – asks husband.
“I bought new picture frames for our family photos. I’m swapping out the old black frames for new ones and moving them above the fireplace. I want to add more color to our home,” – shares wife.
“Oh. I didn’t realize we needed more color,” – says husband.
“Well, we’ve had a lot of black, white, and tan for a while now. Time to shake things up,” – smiles wife.
“What are you planning for the wall that had the family photos on?” – questions husband.
Wife looks at the blank wall.
“I’d like a colorful new piece of art that is refined and elegant. I am hoping to find something unique and create a special atmosphere for our family room,” – says wife.
“I’m going out shopping today. Maybe I could find something for the wall?” – questions husband.
“Well, that’s nice of you to offer, but I am kind of selective. However, you certainly can look and send me a photo of what you find. I am heading out to the grocery store now. Thanks for the offer, Sweetie,” – says wife.
Wife leaves the house to go shopping. Husband leaves the house to go shopping.
Wife returns home and sees husband’s car in front of the house. Wife enters the house and calls out to let husband know she is home.
Husband walks out to the kitchen where wife is.
“I found a great piece of art for the family room and it was a bargain too. It was at the thrift store for only $25,” – husband smiles.
“A thrift store? Only $25? I thought I mentioned sending me a photo first before making a purchase?” – says wife.
“It was an impulse buy. It’s just what you hoped for. It’s colorful, elegant, and refined. I hung it on the blank wall,” – smiles husband.
Wife wrinkles her eyebrows. Wife walks toward the family room. Wife gasps.
“Ahh. What is that?” – stares wife.
“Mission accomplished,” – says husband.
